St Paul’s Notices

Parish newsletter ‘Connect’ - is ready for distribution.  Please collect your bundle(s) from the back of church.  Help with delivering is always appreciated.  If you are able to help, please see the list on the noticeboard in the south aisle or speak to Marion Lowe or Anne Howick.

A difficult passage - Tonight at the 5pm service we will be looking at one of the more difficult passages in the Bible – Psalm 137, a psalm of exile. This is a chance to hear the psalm in context, and ask whether God still speaks through the more shocking and complex passages of Scripture.

Summer Tea Party  -  Come on Saturday 30th June for fun, games and tea in the church grounds (weather permitting, otherwise in church & halls) between 3 and 5pm.  Please feel free to invite friends and neighbours to this event.

Plea from Sunday Squad – We are looking for someone to join the team and help coordinate the amazing work our volunteers do in Sunday Squad.  If you are able to help put the termly rota together, and occasionally lead the teaching slot, we would be delighted to hear from you!  This is a great opportunity to support both our children's work and our wonderful volunteers.  If you are interested, or to find out more, please see Marion B.

Looking to get more involved?  Do you have gifts and expertise that could help us grow and flourish as a church?  We are confident that you do!  Following the AGM, we are now looking for new people to join our various committees, and we'd love you to be involved.  The committees cover the broad sweep of parish life: buildings, finance, outreach, mission, worship and youth work.  Please prayerfully consider this opportunity.  There is a sign-up sheet with more information at the back of church.

New Verger Wanted - We are looking to appoint a new part-time verger.  Please speak to Rev. Simon or Anne H for further details.

On 16th June Keith H will be doing the 10k walk round the Olympic Park in support of March for Men, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.  If anyone would like to sponsor him, he has a sponsorship form so please speak to him today.  Many thanks.

Tea & Coffee – Many thanks to the Beckett Homegroup for serving tea and coffee today.  Next week the Park Homegroup will be on duty.

Mission of the Month –  Deptford Reach

Deptford Reach helps people transform and rebuild their lives, by providing expert advice on issues such as housing, drugs and alcohol dependency, mental ill-health and welfare benefits.

‘We pray today for all those who feel lonely or isolated, for those whose suffering goes unnoticed or who are struggling to keep going and feel alone.  Be gracious to each hurting soul we pray, and we ask that all who attend Deptford Reach would find friendship and a safe space to be themselves.  Father, through acts of love, please touch the hearts of all those who are isolated.’
